“Translation Studies in Ukraine as an Integral Part of the European Context” edited by Martin Djovčoš (Matej Bel University), Mária Kusá (Comenius University, Slovak Academy of Sciences), Ivana Hostová (Slovak Academy of Science) and Emília Perez (Department of Translation Studies, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia) was published in July 2023.
The volume is divided into five thematic parts: Thoughts and Reflections; On Historical Justice in Translation Studies; On Methodological Aspects of Translation; On Linguistic Aspects of Translation; On Trauma and Manipulation. The sections open with papers by leading academics in the field of translation studies.
Anne Lange’s paper “Attachés of Ukrainian Culture in Estonia” appears in the second part and discusses the history of translating Ukrainian literature from the beginning of 20th century to the recent translations of poetry by Anna Verschik.
